RHA Educating Residents about Diabetes
The first in a series of sessions to educate Roxboro Housing Authority residents and persons within the community about diabetes is off to a good start.
The Living Healthy with Diabetes self-management program, which kicked off on Monday, July 1, 2019, and is for people who have Type 2 diabetes or who may have been told they are borderline or pre-diabetic.
Jennifer Grable of the Cooperative Extension Service in Person County showed attendees how to better manage their condition and provided ways to control diabetes instead of it controlling them.
This program is provided by the extension agency, Person County Health Department, and the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging.
Registration is still open and is free. The class continues each Monday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM up to August 6th at Lee Gardens Community Center, 808 Lyle Street, Roxboro.
To register, contact RHA FSS Coord. Larry Mayfield at 336.647.4340.
