PERSONAL FINANCE SERIES FOR RESIDENTS CONTINUE
Roxboro Housing Authority (RHA) started a community engagement series of classes to promote financial independence. "Money Basics" is led by Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator Larry Mayfield.
Mayfield is using booklets written by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and distributed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Financial empowerment topics include how to build good credit, how to build savings, and how to handle debt.
Rebecca Surgeon, a Person County resident, joined RHA residents Amber Martin, Clarissa McMillian and Cassandra Ezell for the first class held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
The class continues to meet every Wednesday, starting at 1 PM, at the FSS/ROSS Building, 438 Mt. Bethel Church Street, Roxboro.
Refreshments will be provided. RHA residents and the general public are invited.
